Glycerine a Great Biogas Plant Feedstock
Glycerine is a magic ingredient to use as part of
the feedstock for an anaerobic digester. Also, it is now coming available in the UK
for use in plants such as Biogas Digesters.
Glycerine as a feedstock will be low cost high calorie and is produced as a by-product from biofuel manufacture
from crops after esterification.
Future Fuels NI Ltd, based in Northern Ireland is one of the first suppliers of glycerine now offering it
in bulk to AD biogas plant operators.
They go so far as to say that they consider their product to be the "vital ingredient" in AD
plants.
Currently (December 2008) they can supply approx 30 tonnes per week, it is anticipated that that would
increase to possibly double that amount in the near future.
Nevertheless, they do currently hold a substantial stock to draw from so they should be able to
deal with most eventualities.
Recently we have been informed by them that they are able to offer full loads delivered anywhere (within
reason) in the mainland UK for a very competitive price.
